PostSubject: Anderson battery/jump lead connectors.   Thu Jan 07, 2010 6:31 pm

Not sure this really belongs in here, but .....

Found these on Fleabay and emailed the guy asking if he could do a similar kit, but using the 350amp connectors.

Got this reply:

Hi Nick
Yes we can do 350amp Jump lead sets - one set works out @ £21.75, p+p for one off would be £10.50, however if you place an order for 3/4 off we can reduce the cost: £20.00 per jump lead set + £10.50 for ist set plus £5.50 for each additional jump lead set.
........................
Regards

So, the more I order, the cheaper it becomes due to the way he's quoting postage. I dare say, if I get a few more than 3 or 4 then he might come down in price even more.

What do you think, and, does anyone want a set?

I've got my jump leads set up on these fellas.

Alot easier on Defenders if you want to fit comfy seats.

A battery cut off switch is a good buy too

Not ordered any yet Rolling Eyes (Only because I didn't get much response, other than from Paul, both on here and a couple of other forums !!).

I'm now thinking that 175 amp is the most common size, which will make them cheaper.

Will start reviewing agian in the next couple of days

Velly cheap compared to VWP's prices for just the connectors http://www.vehicle-wiring-products.eu/VWP-onlinestore/battconns/battconn.php#powerconn

175 rated plugs could get a bit warm with prolonged cranking - you can see cold cranking currents of 250A upwards on many diesel 4x4 engines, but given they'll take a 40mm2 cable (typically 250A+) I reckon there's room to spare.

I'm still not 100% sure what size we should be going for (hoping for some decent discount for bulk purchase).

All the ones I spotted at the 4x4 show semed to 175 amp, so that's what I based my change of mind on.
